I have spent nineteen years designing software and the teams that make it, from freelance beginnings to Fortune 500 platforms. These days I lead UX Foundations at MongoDB from my home near Seattle, usually with a cup of tea going cold beside me.
I live near Seattle with my husband and our three year old daughter, in a house slowly losing the war against my book collection. My husband and I work in the same industry, me on the design side, him on the engineering side, both dabbling in product and operations, and for the past ten years we have career coached, advised startups, and invested together. We push each other constantly, and it doubles as my excuse to stay hands on with the newest design tools. My bucket list is mostly Disney parks, with Tokyo at the top of the list. And I hold firm opinions about tea: never sugared, jasmine on rainy days, iced tea every day, and a standing grievance that afternoon tea ever stopped being normal.
